*Article last updated March 2022. Updates for where to find autumn theme high teas in Brisbane for 2024 coming soon.
At High Cup of Tea, we love a seasonal high tea theme and as the weather gets cooler, autumn treats are the ultimate foodie indulgence.
While golden leaves and pumpkin pie can be hard to come across in Brisbane, the following three venues have added an autumn twist to the traditional high tea so you can grab a cosy fix this fall.
Autumn high tea at Belle Époque
The Emporium Hotel's Belle Époque is no stranger to a seasonal high tea and right now, this patisserie with a touch of Paris is putting on an autumn spread. This is a hearty high tea to add to your to-do list, including raisins and white chocolate scones, thyme crème brûlée and hazelnut choux. Check out the menu here.
If you prefer to swap the glass of champagne with paired cocktails, you can enjoy the same menu at The Emporium's Piano Bar.
Stamford Plaza
Over at the Stamford Plaza, a special edition autumn takeaway high tea is available with specially chosen pastries to celebrate the best of the season. In your take-home goodies, you'll find applewood smoked ham, pear financiers and cider-poached apple scones. Available until the end of May 2023. Take a look at the full menu here.
The Matriarch
While not officially labelled as an autumn-themed high tea, we've scoured the menus of every Brisbane venue (view our high tea directory) and would like to give our own seasonal recommendation — Fancy Tea at The Matriarch. Serving cocktails using rosemary and cranberry shrub, maple syrup, and apple liquor, as well as a pumpkin, pesto sundried tomato, and feta tart, and caramel and cinnamon financiers with caramelised apple compote, topped with chopped almonds, we're impressed! View the menu here.
Lennons Restaurant and Bar
While sipping on a hot spiced Willie Smith cider, you're invited to indulge in lovingly homemade savoury creations and sweets from the trolley at the new winter (close enough, right?)afternoon tea at Lennons Restaurant and Bar. See more information here. Is your venue adding an autumn twist to a high tea? Let us know in the comments below or email hello@highcupoftea.com.au.
